SUMMER CAMP 2017

Monday - Friday, 9a-3p, $375
Ages 6-12, eight children maximum

Before & After-Care (M-F), $6 per half-hour

Session 1: June 19 - 23 + StarwitZ : Harry Potter Camp
Session 2: June 26 - 30 + StarwitZ : Harry Potter Camp

This summer we will focus on "Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets". This summer we will focus on "Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets". We will delve into the magical and imaginary realm of witches and wizards through art, play and drama. Some activities include: Diagon Ally, wands & spell work, Hogwarts Express, the Sorting Hat, Death Day Party, potions, Quidditch, and the Chamber of Secrets quest. Headmistress ME has been a Harry Potter fan since the books came out in 1997!

Session 3: July 5 - 7 + BOTBOT Camp (Bit Of This & Bit Of That)
Come and enjoy some FAD PAD favorites: sewing, cooking, gardening, and various art projects plus general goofing around! Mary Ellen has so many activities she likes to do with campers- she cannot choose just one! * $250 for 3 day camp *

Session 4: July 10 - 14 + Adoptees Connecting Camp (ACC) (6-14 ages) This session is for adopted children who want to share and explore their adoption in a supportive and playful way with other adoptees. All campers will have many opportunities to celebrate their particular life journey as an adopted person through various art forms: writing, drawing, cooking, yoga, storytelling, mindfulness and drama. Mary Ellen was adopted as an infant and has been exploring adoption in various ways for many years.

Session 5: July 31 - August 4 + Fairy Camp
Calling all fairy fans! Flower and tree fairies await your arrival! We will make fairies and fairy furniture using clay, paper, nuts, wood and fabric. We will also spend time playing, singing and dancing in a wide array of fairy costumes. On Friday we will baking and making treats for our fairy tea party! Since she was a little girl in Indiana, Mary Ellen has enjoyed play acting with her neighbor friends and looks forward to meeting more fairies in her garden!

Session 6: August 6 - 11 + Fairy Camp

Session 7: August 14 - 18 + Gardening and Cooking Camp
Come explore Mary Ellen's big, magical backyard! Campers will harvest organic fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers that we will use for our yummy cooking projects. Mary Ellen has enjoyed creating recipes and trying them out since she was a youngster and loves to grow her own food.




Summer Camp 2017 Registration Information

Please fill out the FAD PAD Registration Form or I can email it to you.
If you have already been to a FAD PAD playshop or camp and your contact information has not changed you do not need to fill out a registration form.

Send in the $75 non-refundable deposit for each session. I will send a confirmation and the FAD PAD Release form will be emailed to you once you sign up.

The cost per camp session is $375. A non-refundable $75 deposit for each session per child are due now. You can mail it or use Pay Pal. Please make it out to and mail it to: Mary Ellen Hill, 7548 Circle Hill Drive, Oakland, CA 94605.

A WORD ABOUT NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSITS: Your $75 non-refundable deposit holds your child's spot for camp. If you cancel before April 5, half of your deposit will be returned. If you cancel after April 5, none of your deposit will be returned. If you have another child at camp, the deposit will not go towards their tuition.

Your balance of tuition ($300) will be due in May 2017. Further information about FAD PAD Summer camps will be sent at this time. M-F Before-care is available from 8:30-9:00. After-care is available from 3-5:30. $6 per half-hour. Payments for after-care will be due when the of balance of tuition is due in May.

ADOPTEES CONNECTING CLUB (ACC):


Adoptees Connecting Club (ACC)

ACC is a fun, safe and creative place for adoptees, 6-16 years old. This club is for children who want to explore their adoption story in a supportive and playful way with other adopted children. Each child will have many opportunities to share, explore and celebrate their particular life journey as an adopted person through various art forms: writing, drawing, cooking, yoga, mindfulness, creative visualization, drama and puppets. Since there are no more than 8 children at our club meetings, there is time for all to participate fully.

Sessions 1: Origins October 1, November 5, December 3, 2016
Sessions 2: Discovery January 7, February 4, March 4, 2017

Fee: $180 per session $100 Discount for signing up for all 3 sessions. $180 x 3 = $540 - $100 = $440 total

After School Classes


After School Enrichment!

Since 2004 I have been teaching a variety of after school enrichment classes in the East Bay. From Theater Arts, Puppetry and Storytelling, Hand Sewing and Embroidery to Starwitz ( based on the Harry Potter books). These classes are taught at home studios and elementary schools. I teach at the three primary schools in Piedmont; Havens, Beach and Wildwood. In Oakland I teach at Hillcrest, Redwood Heights and Sequoia.

Stitch~n~Time, Hand Sewing Skills with Mary Ellen Hill

K- 5th grade, 12 students max

For experienced stitchers and newcomers alike! Basic hand sewing skills will be taught. Students will learn how to mend clothes, sew on buttons and how to make puppets, pillows, and more!

Wednesdays 1:20-2:30pm September 16- December 9, 2015 ~ $150 (supplies included) + Administrative fee $10 = 10 fun classes ~ $160
